NATIONAL YOUTH THEATRE EXPERIENCE

Open to grades 4th-12th

This group will be headed up by Mr. James, Ms. Anna, and Ms. Scheu.

 

The National Youth Theater Experience (NYTE) is a festival for aspiring performers in grades K-12. NYTE is an expansion of the Alabama Youth Theatre Experience (AYTE).

AYTE was started as a way to celebrate the young and aspiring performers living in Alabama. After ten amazing years of competition, they have decided to share our passion with the nation! 

WHAT TO EXPECT

- Acting, Dancing, and Singing Workshops

- Solo and Monologue Competitions

- 20 Minute Group Performance

- Themed Finale Party

- Award Ceremony

 

Festival kicks off Friday, March 6th, at 6pm and
concludes Sunday, March 8th, at 10pm 

TRAVEL DATES​

Friday, March 6th - Fly to Louisville

Monday, March 9th - Fly to Tampa

AUDITIONS

Video Submissions are due September 26th by 9:00pm

Please sing a 1 minute cut of the solo you would like to compete with at NYTE.

CALL BACKS

Call backs will be held on Saturday, October 4th from 9:00-11:00am

REHEARSALS

  • Once a week group rehearsals starting in December 2025

  • December 3rd 6-8pm

  • December 10th 6-8pm

  • December 17th 6-8pm

  • January 7th 6-8pm

  • January 21st 6-8pm

  • Solos & Monologues will have times to sign up with the team starting in January 2026

  • MANDATORY REHEARSAL January 31st 9:00-5:00pm

COMPETITION COSTS

$210 due at casting (student ticket cost)

$250 due December 1st (plus any chaperone tickets, $160), includes;

-$50 solo or monologue*

-$200 class fee; students get individual lessons with staff
to prep for NYTE, also used to cover travel for the staff

*$50 additional due if doing both a solo and monologue

Hotel Fee (approx. $600 per room) due February 1st, students are allowed to share rooms.

Additional costs include

Travel, Food, Team Jacket ($65)

Additional Travel Details

High School Students can attend under the supervision of the Center Stage Team. They will be bunked 2 per room.

All Elementary and Middle School Students are welcome to attend and must travel with a chaperone.

FUNDRAISERS

November Calendar

Students will collect money from friends and family to fill their calendar to help cover costs of their ticket. 

1-2 Parents Night Out!

These will be organized by the NYTE parent team.
