JUNIOR THEATRE FESTIVAL

JTF brings together student musical theater troupes from all over the world for a weekend of musical theater mayhem and madness. Each troupe performs fifteen minutes from a Broadway Junior®️ show for adjudication by a panel of musical theater experts. The weekend also features professional development for teachers, workshops for students and parents, a New Works Showcase featuring new musical adaptations soon to be released and concludes with a grand finale concert headlined by Broadway’s best!
Encore Ensemble will also participate in community events such as parades, holiday concerts, and other events.

HOW IT WORKS!

Submit Video Audition by May 11th @ 7pm.

Rehearsals for the FULL PRODUCTION of our show will begin in August. This will run as a normal Center Stage production.

After the show closes we begin our JTF rehearsals to work specifically on our 15 minute piece for adjudication.

AUDITIONS
Video Auditions are due May 11th by 7:00pm

Students should sing 32 bars of a song in the style of the show, but not from the show.

You should include your name, age, height, and song you are performing before your song.
CALL BACKS
Saturday, May 16th 9am-1pm
Students called back should be prepared to dance, sing, and read scenes from the show.

Tuesdays and Thursdays 7:00-9:00pm

PROGRAM COSTS
$300 due at casting (Show Tuition)
$500 per student plus any family tickets ($350 per ticket) are due October 1st.
Additional Costs for the competition will include
Travel, Hotel, Food, Team Jacket ($65)

$125 per night, plus taxes and fees
Everyone will stay at the same hotel
TRAVEL
You are responsible to organize travel on your own.
You MUST be at the competition venue on Friday (we don't receive our time until much closer to the event). MOST travel on Thursday and return home on Monday. 9th-12th grade students are allowed to travel without their parents under the supervision of Mr. James & Ms. Anna, or another chaperoning parent, to ensure the safety of their arrival and departure.
FUNDRAISERS
We will be looking for a team of parents to help lead our fundraisers. Any fundraisers before October 1st will go toward ticket price, anything after that will go toward food for the team. Listed are a couple fundraisers we are aiming to have.
Summer Fundraiser Show
Students will have the option of joining us for a Summer Show!
Rehearsals will be on Wednesdays 5:30pm - 8:30pm
Students able to participate will receive a portion of the profit toward their costs
Performances will be August 8th and 9th at Starkey Ranch Theatre Library.
Christmas Caroling
Students will carol at events and at stores to raise funds for JTF.
Sign ups will be available.

Will my child miss school?
Yes, 1-2 days depending on when you decide to travel. We typically travel on Thursday (some wait until after school), so they only miss Friday. The travel day home on Monday is a day off from school already,
