Acting and Auditions 

James Faurote

Born and raised in the Tampa Bay Area, James has performed and directed at both the Community and Professional levels for the past 20 years. 

He is the Co-Founder of Center Stage Youth Theatre and its current Producing Artistic Director. 

A few of his notable roles in musicals and plays, include; Emmett Forrest (Legally Blonde), Jay Gatsby (The Great Gatsby), Paul (Moon Over Buffalo), Sir Evelyn Oakliegh (Anything Geoes) and Cliff Bradshaw (Cabaret). His television credits include roles in The Right Stuff and Preach. Along with being an actor James has also Directed 12 shows, including; You're A Good Man Charlie Brown, La Cage Aux Folles, and the Florida premier of the Broadway Musical Disaster!, written by Seth Rudetsky and Jack Plotnick, at the Straz Center.

Dance

Chris Fox

Originally from Reno, Nevada, Chris left for Hollywood, CA right after high school when he auditioned for and obtained a spot at the prestigious EDGE Performing Arts Center in their scholarship program. He then danced for Rihanna and The Pussy Cat dolls shortly after he graduated that program.  Chris then traveled the world in a Contemporary Bollywood African Dance Company. He went on to perform in Wicked the Musical and was the Dance Captain in Saturday Night Fever the Musical on Royal Caribbean Cruise lines for 5 years. Chris recently just got back from Saudi Arabia dancing in the first musical ever to appear in Saudi Arabia working alongside the best of the West End and Broadway! Along with his commercial and acting career he specializes in teaching a variety of styles of dance to all ages and levels. Chris Fox looks to inspire upcoming actors, dancers and singers by sharing his knowledge and experience in the industry for over 15 years!

Vocal Technique

Courteney McClutchy

Courteney McClutchy received her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Musical Theater from Point Park University in downtown Pittsburgh in May of 2020. This past May, she graduated with a Master of Arts degree in Speech-Language Pathology specializing in voice and swallowing from the University of Florida. Her professional/training theatrical credits include the Narrator in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat at Lees-McRae Theatre, Helga in Cabaret and Nurse/Harriet in Sunday in the Park with George at Point Park University, and Lisa in Mamma Mia! at the Metropolitan Theatre in West Virginia. In the fall, she will be completing her clinical fellowship with Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist Voice and Swallowing Center in North Carolina to obtain her clinical competencies in Speech-Language Pathology. Her goal is to provide voice & swallowing care for any patient's vocal and dysphasic needs with a particular interest in professional voice users.

Acting and Auditioning
July 5th

Acting 101: Students will learn the fundamental techniques and skills necessary to develop their acting abilities for musical theatre. Through various exercises and activities, students will gain an understanding of how to use their voice, body language, and facial expressions to convey emotion and connect with their audience. They will learn how to analyze and interpret a script, create a character, and build relationships with other characters in a scene.
How To Audition Classes: These hour-long class will give students a good foundation for auditioning, including; the basics of preparation, material selection, physical and vocal technique, acting technique, professionalism, and tips for success.

Cost - $20
Limited to 15 Students Per Class

Schedule
10:00am - 11:00am: Acting 101 for Grades K-5 - FULL
11:15am - 12:15pm: Acting 101 for Grades 6-12 - FULL 
1:00pm - 2:00pm: How to Audition for Grades K-5 - FULL
2:15pm - 3:15pm: How to Audition for Grades 6-12- FULL
3:30pm - 4:30pm: How to Audition for Grades 6-12 - FULL

Dance
July 6th

Students will learn the basics of dance technique and how to apply them to different styles commonly found in musical theater productions. Beginning with a thorough warm-up to prepare the body for movement and prevent injury. Students will learn basic steps, combinations, and choreography in each style, and also explore how to incorporate storytelling and character into their movements. We will also cover basic dance terminology and notation, as well as proper body alignment and posture. Throughout the class, I will emphasize the importance of musicality and rhythm, and how to work with music to enhance performance. Students will have the opportunity to perform in class and receive feedback on their technique and performance quality.
By the end of the class, students will have a solid understanding of the basics of musical theater dance and be able to apply their knowledge to further dance training and performance opportunities.

Cost - $40
Limited to 20 Students Per Class

10:00am - 12:00pm: Elementary Age Musical Theatre Dance 
1:00pm - 3:000pm: Middle School Musical Theatre Dance - FULL
3:30pm - 5:30pm: High School Musical Theatre Dance 

Vocal Tchnique
July 7th

Help students develop healthy singing habits and build a strong foundation for their vocal abilities. This includes working on proper breathing technique, vocal exercises for improving range, tone, and clarity, good posture and body alignment, and strategies for avoiding vocal strain and injury. By the end of the class, students should have a solid foundation in vocal technique that they can continue to build on as they develop their singing abilities.

Cost - $20
Limited to 15 Students Per Class

9:00am - 10:00am: Beginner Vocal Techniques for Grades K-5 - FULL
10:15pm - 11:15pm: Beginner Vocal Techniques for Grades K-5 - FULL
11:30pm - 12:30pm: Beginner Vocal Techniques for Grades 6-12 - FULL
1:30pm - 2:30pm: Beginner Vocal Technique for Grades 6-12 - FULL
2:45pm - 3:45pm: Advanced Vocal Technique - FULL 
ADDED 4:00pm - 5:00pm: Advanced Vocal Technique
